Sannazaro e la cultura napoletana nell'Europa del Rinascimento : tessere per la geografia e la storia della letteratura

Abstract

Tra fine Quattrocento e inizio Cinquecento la cultura napoletana gode una propria autonomia, dialoga alla pari con altri centri della nostra Penisola (in particolare Firenze, Venezia e Roma) e mostra un respiro europeo. Il profilo critico del Sannazaro (1457-1530) offre numerose tessere per ridisegnare la geografia e la storia del Rinascimento, mettendo a frutto la lezione metodologica di Dionisotti, i risultati ancora parziali della filologia, da estendere auspicabilmente all’intero corpo delle opere, e infine la bibliografia specifica prodotta negli ultimi decenni. Nel delineare il profilo critico del Sannazaro, che presenta due stagioni (aragonese prima, vicereale poi) segnate dalla «frattura biografica» dell’esilio volontario in Francia, è opportuno portare l’attenzione almeno su alcuni poli: a) il rapporto tra la cultura napoletana rappresentata da Sannazaro e la cultura veneziana rappresentata da Pietro Bembo; b) il contributo e la funzione del Sannazaro nello scacchiere europeo dell’umanesimo latino e della letteratura mariana, che ha la capitale nella città eterna dei papi medicei; c) l’intreccio tra letteratura e arti figurative.
