Seismic interferometry for in-mine exploration

Abstract

Im Zuge des Forschungsprojektes "Seismic Imaging Techniques for Mineral Exploration" wurde die Anwendung von passiver seismischer Interferometrie (PSI) in untertägigen Strecken und dessen Eignung für die Mineralexploration getestet. Zu Validierungszecken wurde PSI mit der 3D-Bohrlochradartechnologie und einer aktiven seismischen Messung verglichen. Die Messungen wurden auf der 574-m-Sohle des ehemaligen Salz- und Forschungsbergwerk für die Endlagerung von radioaktiven Abfällen, der Schachtanlage Asse II, durchgeführt. Im Anschluss wurden die gesammelten Datensätze quantitativ und qualitativ prozessiert und bewertet. Dies erlaubte die Verifizierung von bereits bekannten und unbekannten geologischen Strukturen mittels Datenklassifikation und Selektion durch eine Illuminations-Diagnose und anschließender Anwendung von PSI via Kreuz- und Autokorrelation. Darüber hinaus konnten herkömmliche Prozessierungsschritte von PSI auf untertägige Anwendungen angepasst und verfeinert werden.
