
A 25-item survey was conducted on 32 jounals devoted to onomastics, the science of names, to evaluate content, editorial policy, being indexed/abstracted and other pertinent informafion. Returns from 14 countries indicate that English is widely accepted as a language for publication (18 journals as a main language, 6 additional as an acceptable language; Ulrich's International Periodicals Index lists 14 of the journals; Onoma indexes 24; and the MLA International Bibliography 14.
