
In the interest of reducing risk of infection for patients during surgery, there has been an increasing emphasis on using single-use equipment in theatre practice. This article explores the literature surrounding single-use laryngoscope blades, surgical gloves and drapes. Evidence suggests single-use versions of these devices have reduced infection rates and have shown an equal, if not better, performance than their re-usable equivalents.
