Estudo Magnetométrico terrestre em uma ocorrência de talco xisto

Abstract

This study was conducted in an area near the city of Cacapava Sul - RS, with application of magnetometry geophysical method on an occurrence of talc schist inserted into metasediments, in an attempt to obtain a satisfactory evaluation in this geological context unexplored by geophysics . The land magnetometric survey was applied in the form of irregular grid and distributed beyond of the mined area on the talc schist, totaling 492 stations measures, with average spacing of 30 meters between each point. The method magnetometric served as an important tool in the characterization of talc schist, which in this case presented a set of dipolar anomalies. Correlating the data from the Total Magnetic Field, Reduced to the Pole and Analytical Signal Maps, was identified as a common behavior in magnetic response, with anomalous values near the contact between the target and its enclosing rock.
