Abstract

Aktuelle Analysemethoden an Bernsteinperlen. Zwei Neufunde aus dem spätneolithischen Galeriegrab II von Erwitte-Schmerlecke (Kr. Soest) 2009 wurden bei Ausgrabungen in einem spätneolithischen Galeriegrab bei Erwitte-Schmerlecke neben Menschenknochen, Tierzahnanhängern sowie einigen Flint- und Kupferobjekten auch zwei scheibenförmige Bern steinperlen geborgen. Diese typologisch unspezifischen Schmuckstücke konnten mit modernen Analyseverfahren genauer betrachtet werden. Die infrarotspektroskopische Untersuchung hat bestätigt, dass es sich bei ihnen um die in Nordeuropa am weitesten verbreitete Bernsteinvarietät, den sogenannten baltischen Bernstein, handelt. Eine Computertomographie der am stärksten oxidierten Perle erbrachte eine 3D-Simulation ihres Aufbaus und ihrer Verwitterungsschäden. Damit wurde dieses zerstörungsfreie Analyseverfahren erstmals auf ein neolithisches Bernsteinobjekt angewandt.
