Ionic Conductivity of Zirconium Phosphate

Ionic Conductivity of Zirconium Phosphate

Abstract

Conductivity measurements were made on zirconium phosphate prepared using an excess of phosphoric acid and not subjected to high temperatures. Measurements were made of conductivity vs temperature. In order to determine the thermal stability of the zirconium phosphate, a thermogravimetric analysis was conducted. A fuel cell using a zirconium phosphate membrane was prepared, but the membrane had low conductivity and was changed by hydrolysis. (M.C.G.)
