The paper deals with noise criteria in condominium situations. Since total inaudibility of intrusive sounds is impossible to achieve with standard construction systems for condominiums, the presence of background noise is considered an important item in the design equation. An attempt is made to define acoustic comfort and related background noise spectrum and level is discussed. A scheme to determine comfort level for occupants in condominiums is presented.
