Multifunction module performing both filtering and radiating functions called filtering antenna or filtenna becomes inevitable in modern wireless communication system. This paper discusses the implementation of various filtering antennas and analyzes the performance of these antennas in terms of parameters such as gain, selectivity, bandwidth, harmonic suppression, and polarization. Various techniques, issues, and challenges post in the design of filtering antenna and methods used to enhance the performance of filtering antennas are discussed.
