Integral backstepping control design for VSC-HVDC systems

Abstract

This paper presents a backstepping control strategy based on Lyapunov theory for VSC-HVDC transmission systems. The controller is able to ensure the tracking of the output variables and the stability of the studied power system. Indeed, the required performances have been improved using a nonlinear Backstepping method where an integral action is added. The proposed control scheme has been evaluated by simulation study by SPS and Simulink/Matlab software based on an average model of the VSC-HVDC transmission system.
