
Crowdsourcing is an emerging area by which the knowledge of an expert community is applied to solve critical issues. Though crowdsourcing is popular among the companies for gaining innovative ideas, the software organizations are looking up for community based software development. This paper explores the conceptual areas of crowdsourcing and examines the viability of crowdsourcing in software development. The basic characteristics of crowdsourcing software artifacts and their related issues were identified in this work. Besides this, this paper also gives the classification of the related issues.
