Network optimization using ant colony algorithm

Abstract

Computer network plays vital role in our day to day life's critical issues such as hospitals, fire brigade, military. The errors or failures in such computer network create significant loss. These failures or errors should be taken into account while designing a computer network. Designing and improving computer network performance includes complex tasks, which takes more time and money. The network design is said to be successful when it is capable to tolerate the faults as maximum as possible. The network which continues its performance with failure or error is the robust network. Here attempt is made to optimize the computer network in terms of robustness without loss of efficiency. Our approach developed new algorithm for improving the robustness and efficiency of computer network. This paper presents the new optimization technique which uses the cooperative nature of ants while searching for the food.
