To the Editor: I appreciate the work that you do for Physical Therapy . The quality of the research articles continues to improve under your tenure. I must, however, take great exception to a statement you made in your Editor's Note in the December 1994 issue. As you reflected over the year, you made a statement, “In the year gone by I saw my hope for health care reform and universal coverage dashed in a chaotic flight from social responsibility by people who should have known better.” I take exception to this statement as I was one of those people who strongly lobbied to my representatives to avoid a large government-run system and guaranteeing of universal access within that system. I did this to be “socially responsible” and to avoid even higher taxation to middle-class people who can barely afford the current level of taxes we must now tolerate.… [ ARTICLE][1] [1]: /lookup/volpage/74/1091?iss=12
