Abstract Briquette planting is a mechanized form of ball planting. This form of planting has not been used in American forestry, although commonly employed in planting of ornamental trees. It has, with good reason, been considered too expensive. In European forestry, on the other hand, ball planting, even though costly, finds rather wide use.
