Observations are presented of the surface-brightness fluctuations and photometry of globular clusters in the interacting galaxy NGC 5128 (Centaurus A). It is found that the fluctuation apparent magnitudes are 26.08 and 28.12; the I band magnitude implies that NGC 5128 is 3.1 + or - 0.1 Mpc distant. This distance is in good agreement with those derived from the globular cluster luminosity function and supernovae, but is 20 percent smaller than that derived from the planetary nebula luminosity function. 29 refs.
