Abstract This chapter focuses on some horticultural management procedures that can improve avocado orchard performance. The importance of the understanding the of the environment and the limitations or excesses it imposes on tree growth, which is critical for success in determining management strategies from orchard design onwards, is discussed and the importance of understanding the cost of management inputs and the returns from fruit is pointed out.
