The Australian species of Elasminae are placed in two genera, Elasmus Westwood and Austelasmus, gen. nov. Descriptions of 53 species of Elasmus and 5 species of Austelasmus and keys for their separation are presented. Six species described from the male only by Girault have been excluded from the key and another 11 species cannot be recognized from the descriptions and the fragmentary remains or absence of the types.
