The nonlinear energy theorem of Rosenbluth for helically symmetric tokamak magnetohydrodynamic motions is used to find nonlinear corrections to the linear stability of kink modes. Near marginal stability these corrections are important and give a finite amplitude threshold for instability. Cases are also found in which a mode saturates at low amplitude, in agreement with previous calculations.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 7 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
