The MAGIC telescope project
An overview of the design parameters and the status of the 17 m O MAGIC telescope project will be given. During phase I the telescope will reach a threshold of 30 GeV and a sensitivity of 6.10−11/cm2 sec (5 sigma, 50 hours on source). ‘First light’ is expected in mid 2001 and observations will begin in 2002. The telescope will be installed at the HEGRA site on La Palma.
