Abstract

Advances in the treatment of respiratory conditions include the use of anti-immunoglobulin E (IgE) therapy in asthma and endothelin antagonists/phosphodiesterase inhibitors in pulmonary hypertension. In the field of lung cancer, endobronchial ultrasound guided lymph node biopsy can aid in diagnosis and staging, and biological therapies are being used in the treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma.
