The paper deals with the design principles, operation and simplified basic electromagnetic and electromechanical equations of a motor, combining the properties of the continuous-motion linear induction motor and the reluctance-type stepping motor for positioning. The motor provides for rapid movement of loads even to distant places and ensures exact positioning; The measure of degradation of its main parameters as compared with single-purpose motors is pointed out. Research prototypes are described and analysis results compared with measurements. Finally, certain application possibilities of the motor in industry are indicated.
