L. fermentum CCFM1139 can decrease P. gingivalis and F. nucleatum colonizations in the oral cavity of rats, and regulate the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-8 in the periodontal tissue, and alveolar bone loss caused by periodontitis.
