THE structure determination of deoxyuridine was undertaken as part of a series of conformational studies of nucleic acid components. Such studies give information about the preferred conformation of nucleosides and nucleotides1,2, and may clarify the conformational differences and changes that occur in nucleic acids. The conformational parameters of interest in deoxyuridine are the pucker of the sugar ring, the torsion angle of the sugar relative to the base about the glycosidic bond and the orientation of the C(5′)–O(5′) bond about the C(4′)–C(5′) bond.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 11 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% |
