DURING 1947, Gonatorrhodiella Highlei A.L.Sm., a member of the Fungi Imperfecti only once recorded in Great Britain before1, was observed forming yellowish felts of conidiophores on the bark surfaces of stored beech and poplar logs at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.
