Analytical chemistry benefits from uniformly applied and readily accessible reference materials to assess the accuracy of experimental results. Without assessment, experimental findings are best considered with a healthy dose of skepticism. For several chemical analyses, reference materials are available commercially Amino acids, for example, are biochemical analytes for which standard materials are readily available from commercial vendors. There are many environmental analyses, however, for which reference materials are not available. One such measurement had been that of organic carbon dissolved in natural waters.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 109 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
