Abstract

Abstract In the current manuscript two new furan based polyesters, namely poly(pentylene furanoate) (PPeF) and poly(heptylene furanoate) (PHepF), have been synthesized for the first time using 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (2,5-FDCA) and aliphatic diols with odd number of methylene groups (5 and 7 respectively) via melt polycondensation method. Their structural characteristics and thermal properties are presented in detail.
