
Abstract Strange particles are characterized by having one or more heavy quarks with the flavour strangeness. Evidence is presented that the introduction of strange quarks might offer a possibility to trace the role of quarks in low momentum transfer interactions. Three examples are presented. The description of the K+N scattering in the additive quark model, strange dibaryons and Sigma hypernuclei.
