Abstract The treatment of perspective pictures with the help of computers requires thorough knowledge of geometry for describing the change between object and picture by mathematical formulas before programs for the different tasks (design, discussion, rectification and montages of pictures) can be made. The formulas will be derived explicitly, and their detailed application will be shown in three examples (an aerial picture and two copper engravings created by Durer in 1514). Hereby plotter and graphics tablet are most important aids.
