The adjustment of process furnace operating conditions is carried out in three stages: the mechanical condition of the furnace is checked, deficiencies as noted are eliminated, and final operating indices of the furnaces are determined. This paper gives a description of shakedown and adjustment operations on process furnaces in an ELOU-AVT unit. Increase in efficiency of fuel utilization resulted in savings on fuel costs.
