Adenomatoider odontogener Tumor

Abstract

Die Geschwulst, die heute als adenomatoider odontogener Tumor (a.o.T.) bezeichnet wird, ist wahrscheinlich von Dreibladt (1907, zit. nach Thoma 1970), der den Tumor „Pseudoadenoma adamantinum“ nannte und von Harbitz (1915), der ihn als „Adamantin-Zystadenom“ bezeichnete, zuerst beschrieben worden (Gorlin u. Goldman 1970). Wegen seiner Ahnlichkeit mit dem Ameloblastom wurde der a.o.T. lange Zeit den Ameloblastomen zugerechnet. Erst 1948 wurde die damals Adenoameloblastom genannte Veranderung von den ubrigen odontogenen Tumoren abgegrenzt (Stafne 1948). Sie galt als epithelialer odontogener Tumor ohne induktive Wirkung auf das Mesenchym (Gorlin et al. 1961). Aufgrund einer Auswertung von 111 Fallen konnten Giansanti et al. (1970) jedoch zeigen, das bei diesem Tumorim Gegensatz zum Ameloblastom das Epithel wohl eine induktive Wirkung auf das Mesenchym hat. Deswegen, und zur besseren Unterscheidung vom Ameloblastom, wird heute die Bezeichnung „adenomatoider odontogener Tumor“ bevorzugt (Thoma 1970; Giansanti et al. 1970; Pindborg u. Hjorting-Hansen 1974).
