Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has become indispensable radiographic modality for dentists as it provides high-quality, accurate three-dimensional (3D) representations of maxillofacial structures. CBCT is integral part of guided endodontics. Understanding of field of view, CBCT image acquisition and reconstruction, and artifact reduction are paramount for its use in guided endodontics. This chapter delineates important aspects of CBCT imaging and summarizes recommendations and guidelines provided by American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR).
