This chapter extends the discussion provided in Chapter 1 by providing an overview of the development of criteria for subclassification of alpha-adrenergic receptors into alpha-1 vs alpha-2 adrenergic receptor sybtypes and of more recent data suggesting the existence of subtypes of alpha-2 adrenergic receptors. A compendium of structure—activity data is then provided that ultimately permits a description of the structural requirements for the ligand-binding site of an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor.
| citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 21 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
