AbstractA new kind of planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) is presented. To reduce the size of the structure, the resonator has been curled under itself. A capacitive load is added to decrease the frequencies of higher resonances. The result is the achievement of a dual‐band antenna. Theoretical results are computed by the software design package IE3D. The effects of various physical parameters are presented and discussed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
