In a recent publication by Akar and co-workers (Eur. Polym. J. 2006, 42, 2361), it was claimed that bulk polypyrrole with a conductivity of 4 000 S cm -1 was obtained by a simple chemical synthesis. If reproducible, this would be a quite revolutionary result for the polymer electronics community. In this communication, we report that this result is not reproducible, and demonstrate, by comparison to literature results, that it is also not plausible.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 4 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
