The current work describes a dialysis technique which separates 5-fluorouracil from interfering blood components and allows for subsequent GC determinations. The parameters affecting the dialysis and GC are presented. The results indicate that 5-fluorouracil is present in the free and bound states in blood, and the method is capable of distinguishing between them.
