AbstractSome of my friends and relatives wonder why I want to spend my time thinking about social inequities in the context of natural disasters. I have tried to explain the importance of understanding how humanity's responses mitigate or worsen the human toll of “acts of God.” Disaster ethics presents a unique set of challenges.
