Abstract
Modern underground mining, including Serbia, is characterized by three general trends: deeper mines, mechanized mining activities and more rigorous standards of safety and health at work. Ventilation of mines in such conditions is one of the most important components of energy costs, having in mind aircooling requirements, the quality of the mine atmosphere and the required climatic conditions from the aspect of safety and health of workers.
