The volunteer movement to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which actively developed with the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in February 2022, became a kind of continuation of the Ukrainian tradition of material support for the national liberation movement of the first half of the 20th century. Practices of daily support of the fighters of the national resistance forces, developed at that time, allowed modern volunteers to more efficiently and rationally use the means of assistance to the Ukrainian army provided to them. The topic of daily material and economic support of the Ukrainian national liberation movement of deeper scientific analysis. In this publication, the authors outlined the main promising directions for further research. The purpose of the publication is to study and reconstruct a complete picture of the daily practices of the rural population of Eastern Galicia supporting the fighters of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The study of the processes of everyday material and economic support of the Ukrainian national liberation movement was carried out by the general scientific principles of objectivity and historicism, which were implemented by applying problem-chronological, statistical, analysis and synthesis, and other methods of scientific research. In the absence of support from outside, the Ukrainian national liberation movement on the territory of Eastern Galicia had to rely exclusively on the material resources of the Ukrainian population. Of course, it is difficult to even compare the proportionality of the resources and means at the disposal of the Soviet authorities, which were resisted by the Ukrainian rebels. But despite the difficult socio-economic conditions of the post-war period, and the growing terror of the Soviet repressive bodies, Galician society tried to support its defenders in various ways. Someone cooked food, someone sewed clothes, others transported resources, etc. Only open enemies did not help the resistance forces. The Soviet authorities managed to stop the support of the armed underground only when the Galician peasantry faced the threat of physical survival through the means of state terror.

Волонтерський рух для підтримки Збройних Сил України, який активно розвинувся із початком російсько-української війни у лютому 2022 р., став своє­рідним продовженням української традиції матеріальної підтримки національно-визвольного руху першої половини ХХ століття. Вироблені у той час практики повсякденної підтримки бійців сил національного спротиву дозволили сучасним волонтерам ефективніше та раціональніше використовувати надані їм засоби допомоги українському війську. Мета публікації полягає у вивченні та реконструкції цілісної картини щоденних практик підтримки сільським населенням західних областей УРСР (Львівської, Дрогобицької, Тернопільської, Станиславівської областей) бійців УПА. Дослі­дження процесів повсякденного матеріально-господарського забезпечення укра­їнського національно-визвольного руху здійснювалося відповідно до загально­наукових принципів об’єктивності та історизму, які реалізовувалися шляхом засто­сування проблемно-хронологічного, статистичного, аналізу й синтезу та інших методів наукового пошуку. Відзначено, що незважаючи на складні соціально-економічні умови повоєнного часу, наростаючий терор радянських репресивних органів, галицьке суспільство у різний спосіб намагалося підтримати своїх захисників. Зупинити підтримку збройного підпілля, радянській владі вдалося лише тоді, коли засобами державного терору галицьке селянство опинилося перед загрозою фізичного виживання.
