ACTIVATION OF THE LIBRARIES OF HIGHER EDUCATIONINSTITUTIONS IN PROMOTING EDUCATIONAL WORK ANDSOCIAL – PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION OF FRESHMEN

Abstract

The article continues many years of research that contributed to the emergence of a number of scientific papers on identifying the features of the development of scientific communication by integrating knowledge, methods, technologies on the example of interaction in the system «Library-Education». The authors analyze the typical shortcomings of information preparation of school graduates, determine the directions of development of new technologies in educational work, outline the method of promoting the social and psychological adaptation of freshmen by means of the communicative and scientific environment of the library of the institution of higher education. It is determined that the educational work in Ukrainian higher education institutions is carried out on the basis of democracy, the use of the potential of student self-government and aims at quality training, ensuring a harmonious, holistic development of the individual, capable of independent thinking, free public choice. The goal is to identify the typical shortcomings in the information preparation of school graduates for the development of new technologies in educational work and to promote the social and psychological adaptation of freshmen by means of the communication and scientific environment of the library. The authors outline the main directions of educational work, trace the positive and negative changes in technologies of information preparation of students of schools. The study identified typical shortcomings in the information preparation of school graduates, identified the tasks of the library of higher education institutions on the basis of the «National Strategy for the Development of Education in Ukraine for 2012-2021» and «Strategies for the development of library affairs for the period up to 2025 «Qualitative changes of libraries to ensure sustainable development of Ukraine»». The authors suggested a scheme of the developed lecture. The lecture is recommended for first-year students, on the example of the Scientific and Technical Library of Odessa National Polytechnic University. It is aimed at the rapid adaptation of freshmen to work with the website of ONPU Scientific and Technical Library, for the successful use of electronic resources in the educational process. The trial took place in September 2019 for the first-year students of the Department of Information and Media-Communication of the Odessa National Polytechnic University. 

Статья продолжает многолетнее исследование, которое способствовало появлению ряда научных работ по определению особенностей развития научной коммуникации путем интеграции знаний, методов, технологий на примере взаимодействия в системе «Библиотека-Образование». Авторами анализируются типичные недостатки информационной подготовки выпускников школ, определяются направления разработки новых технологий в воспитательной работе, намечается методика содействие социально-психологической адаптации первокурсников средствами коммуникативного и научной среды библиотеки учреждения высшего образования. 

Стаття продовжує багаторічне дослідження, яке сприяло появі низки наукових робіт із визначення особливостей розвитку наукової комунікації шляхом інтеграції знань, методів, технологій на прикладі взаємодії у системі «Бібліотека-Освіта». Авторами аналізуються типові недоліки інформаційної підготовки випускників шкіл, визначаються напрями розробки нових технологій у виховній роботі, накреслюється методика сприяння соціально-психологічної адаптації першокурсників засобами комунікативного та наукового середо вища бібліотеки ЗВО.
