The aim of the article is to determine the hero peculiarities of the “moral concern” cinema using typological analysis. Results. Polish cinema of “moral concern” is still insufficiently researched in Ukrainian film studies, but it retains a surprisingly high relevance both for the general European context and for the Ukrainian cinematographic process. Nowadays, the hero image of the “moral concern” film needs a new interpretation from the point of view of analysing its fundamental features. Different approaches to the typology of the hero reveal a number of difficulties in interpreting key peculiarities in his generalised portrait and the most common patterns of behaviour that he adheres to. The article highlights a number of problematic research aspects of the image of the “moral concern” hero; presents an analysis of contradictions in existing typologies, as well as attempts to apply them to a wider list of Polish films of the 70s and 80s. The main models of the hero’s behaviour are studied in the context of his attitude to the normative and value system adopted in society. According to the models of social behaviour and the hero’s moral position, additional criteria are offered for the analysis of his dramaturgical features. Other types that were not studied within the framework of this issue are also highlighted. The scientific novelty of the article grounds on the fact, that for the first time in Ukrainian film studies, the features of the “moral concern” hero are defined, taking into account and supplementing film studies typologies. Conclusions. The results of this study confirm that the hero of the “moral concern” films is a complex, multifaceted personality, the further study of whom has prospects for renewed interpretations and identifying relevant connections with Ukrainian modernity in particular.

Мета статті – визначити особливості героя кінематографа «морального занепокоєння», використовуючи типологічний аналіз. Результати дослідження. Польське кіно «морального занепокоєння» досі мало вивчалося в українському кінознавстві, однак зберігає напрочуд високу актуальність як для загальноєвропейського контексту, так і для українського кінематографічного процесу. Сьогодні постать героя кіно «морального занепокоєння» потребує нового осмислення з точки зору аналізу її принципових особливостей. Різні підходи щодо типологізації героя виявляють низку складнощів у трактуванні визначальних рис в його узагальненому портреті та найпоширеніших моделей поведінки, яких він дотримується. У статті виявлено низку проблемних аспектів дослідження образу героя «морального занепокоєння», проаналізовано суперечності наявних типологій, а також спроби їх застосування до ширшого діапазону польських фільмів 70-х – 80-х рр. Розглянуто основні моделі поведінки героя в контексті його ставлення до нормативно-ціннісної системи, прийнятої в суспільстві. Відповідно до моделей соціальної поведінки й моральної позиції героя запропоновано додаткові критерії для аналізу його драматургічних характеристик, а також виділено інші типи, що не досліджувалися в рамках цієї проблематики. Наукова новизна статті полягає в тому, що вперше в українському кінознавстві визначено особливості героя кінематографа «морального занепокоєння» з урахуванням і доповненням кінознавчих типологій. Висновки. Результати дослідження підтверджують, що герой фільмів «морального занепокоєння» є складною, багатоаспектною особистістю, подальше вивчення якої має перспективи для оновлених інтерпретацій та виявлення актуальних зв’язків з українською сучасністю зокрема.
