The article focuses on scientific investigation of everyday lexicon in the dialects of Ukrainian language. The study of thematic groups of vocabulary of the Ukrainian dialects of the Carpathians is an urgent task of modern dialectology, as it makes it possible to preserve archaic lexical units, to trace the changes taking place in the dialects. In this regard, ancient dialects are especially unique and generous, since they preserve the evidence of past eras, which are important for the study of not only the Ukrainian language, but also the material and spiritual culture of the Ukrainian people. Archaic dialects include dialects of the Carpathian group of dialects of the southwestern dialect, namely: Transcarpathian, Hutsul, Boyko dialects, the everyday vocabulary of which has become the subject of our scientific research. In the scientific literature, the need for a thorough study of individual thematic groups of vocabulary is repeatedly emphasized. Linguistic interest in the vocabulary of Ukrainian dialects of the Carpathian group of dialects dates back to the 30s of the nineteenth century, active study of dialects falls on the second half of the twentieth century – the beginning of the twenty- first century. Thus, at one time, the object of linguistic studies was botanical, entomologic, timber, construction and transport vocabulary of Ukrainian dialects of the Transcarpathian dialect. The article focuses on the study and systematization of the everyday vocabulary of the Ukrainian dialects of the Carpathians, analyzes the current state of studying the everyday vocabulary of Ukrainian dialects, and considers the issue of classification of lexical units within thematic groups of everyday vocabulary. Everyday vocabulary is a multifaceted integral system consisting of lexical and thematic groups and uniting various spheres of human life. Within the framework of everyday vocabulary, we distinguish thematic groups of vocabulary “names of clothes”, “names of shoes”, “names of jewelry”, “names of household items”. In this article we will analyze the most significant archaic names of women’s clothing, which represent the semantic subgroup “upper long women’s clothing made of homemade cloth with a fold”, collected by us in the field during 2002–2008 in 115 settlements of the mountainous areas of Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Chernivtsi regions, in semantic, etymological and arealological aspects.

Дослідження тематичних груп лексики українських говорів Карпат є актуальним завданням сучасної діалектології, оскільки дає можливість зберегти архаїчні лексичні одиниці, простежити зміни, що відбуваються у говорах. У цьому плані особливо унікальними та щедрими є старожитні говори, оскільки саме вони зберігають у собі свідчення минулих епох, що важливі для вивчення не тільки української мови, а й матеріальної та духовної культури українського народу. До архаїчних говорів належать говори карпатської групи діалектів південно-західного наріччя, а саме: закарпатський, гуцульський, бойківський говори, побутова лексика яких стала предметом нашого наукового дослідження. У науковій літературі неодноразово наголошується на необхідності ґрунтовного дослідження окремих тематичних груп лексики. Мовознавче зацікавлення лексикою українських говорів карпатської групи говорів бере початки від 30-их років ХІХ століття, активне дослідження говорів припадає на другу половину ХХ – початок ХХІ століття. Так, свого часу об’єктом мовознавчих студій була ботанічна, ентомологічна, лісосплавна, будівельна, транспортна лексика українських говірок закарпатського говору. У статті увага зосереджується на питанні вивчення, систематизації побутової лексики українських говорів Карпат, проаналізовано сучасний стан вивчення побутової лексики українських говорів, розглядається питання класифікації лексичних одиниць у межах тематичних груп побутової лексики. Побутова лексика – це багатопланова цілісна система, що складається з лексико-тематичних груп й об’єднує різні сфери життєдіяльності людини. У межах побутової лексики виділяємо тематичні групи лексики «назви одягу», «назви взуття», «назви прикрас», «назви хатніх речей». У статті проаналізуємо найбільш знакові архаїчні назви жіночого верхнього довгополого рукавного одягу, що презентують семантичну підгрупу ʻверхній довгополий жіночий одяг із саморобного сукна з відлогоюʼ, зібрані нами в польових умовах протягом 2002–2008 років у 115 населених пунктах гірських районів Закарпатської, Івано-Франківської, Львівської та Чернівецької областей, у семантико-етимологічному й ареалогічному аспектах.
