Water needs for food production will increase due to the growth of the world population. In this research it has built a self-watering system based on Internet of Things (IoT). Inexpensive items and free hardware - software (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Linux, Java, Wildfly, Python, etc.) are used to implement Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), allowing the information about agro-climatic variables (soil moisture, ambient temperature, precipitation, etc.).
