Abstract

El tratamiento de los desechos orgánicos procedentes de la agroindustria tales como el despulpado del café (pulpa y aguas mieles), la cáscara del plátano, sueros de leche producidos por las queserías y la gallinaza (estiércol de gallina preparado para ser utilizado como abono o complemento alimenticio para ganado); constituye una valiosa oportunidad de evitar la contaminación de los acuíferos, reducir la deforestación, obtener energía proveniente del biogás y producir fertilizantes orgánicos. Este es un proyecto realizado en el ámbito de la cooperación al desarrollo, cuyo objetivo es la construcción de un biodigestor y la creación de una metodología que permita la replicación de dicha tecnología, a través de un convenio entre la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, la Facultad Regional Multidisciplinaria (FAREM-Estelí) y la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua (UNAN-Managua). El proyecto se centra en dos líneas; una parte experimental y otra orientada a la práctica constructiva de tres biodigestores portátiles para su uso como herramienta docente en la universidad. La parte experimental consistirá en los análisis de la digestión dentro de los tres biodigestores portátiles con el fin de caracterizar la biodigestión de cada uno de los desechos orgánicos anteriormente citados. En la parte práctica, la idea central es proponer un sistema biodigestor en el Parque Científico Estelimar cuyo diseño estará basado sobre los resultados experimentales, considerando, por supuesto, las condiciones de terreno, disponibilidad de agua y otros recursos locales de la finca. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ The treatment of the organic waste such as the waste produced by coffee pulping (pulp and coffee wastewater), banana skin, whey produced by cheese makers and chicken manure (prepared to be used as fertilizer or as a nutritious complement for livestock); represents a valuable opportunity for preventing the contamination of aquifers, decreasing deforestation, obtaining energy resulting from biogas and producing organic fertilizer. This is a project carried out in the Development Cooperation field, with the objective of the construction of an anaerobic digester and the development of a methodology that will enable the replication of this technology. The project is actualized through an agreement between the following Universities: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the Facultad Regional Multidisciplinaria (FAREM-Estelí) and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua (UNAN-Managua). The project focuses on two research lines; one experimental and the other directed at the constructive practice of three portable anaerobic digesters to be used as an educative aid in the university. The experimental component will consist of the analysis of the digestion inside of each one of three portable anaerobic digesters with the purpose of defining the digestion of each one of the organic waste aforementioned. The practical component proposes the implementation of an anaerobic digestion system for Parque Científico Estelimar; depending on the results of the experimental component such the course of the environmental conditions, water availability and the local resources.
