Abstract
This article analyses the phonological and morphological features of Juraj Habdelić’s (1609–1678) work Zarczalo Marianzko (1662) in order to demonstrate that its language is predominantly based on the literary Croatian Kajkavian dialect. Moreover, the author sheds light on the impact of Štokavian and Čakavian authors on Habdelić's language. Special attention is paid to those language features which can be viewed as Kajkavian, but which were included in the body of literary Kajkavian as a whole at a time when the Kajkavian literary tradition still existed.
