Abstract
The number of people affected with dementia continues to grow each year. Within the framework of Positive Psychology, we will study the positive effects of music therapy on quality of life of people with dementia. The main objective is to analyze and compare the effects of music therapy (experimental group), and recreations/ reminiscence (control group) in institutionalized elderly. Specifically, to evaluate the effect of music therapy program vs. reminiscence/recreation program on cognitive functioning, mood and participation-interaction of individuals in moderate and advanced stages of dementia..
