<jats:title>ABSTRACT</jats:title> <jats:p>We previously cloned three endoglucanase genes, <jats:italic>rce1</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>rce2</jats:italic>, and <jats:italic>rce3</jats:italic>, that were isolated from <jats:italic>Rhizopus oryzae</jats:italic> as the first cellulase genes from a member of the subdivision Zygomycota.
