Abstract

Inceptisol merupakan salah satu ordo tanah dengan ciri belum mangalami perkembangan yang lebih lanjut dan masih tergolong kedalam tanah muda dengan tingkat kesuburan tanah rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh biokanat terhadap perbaikan sifat kimia Inceptisol dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman terung (Solanum Melongena L.) di Nagari Mungo, Kecamatan Luak, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas dosis biokanat 0 ton/ha, 10 ton/ha, dan 20 ton/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis biokanat 20 ton/ha dapat meningkatkan nilai pH hingga 6,08 unit, C-Organik sebesar 3,07%, P-tersedia 48,26 ppm, N-total sebesar 0,77%, KTK sebesar 39,193 cmol.kg-1 , serta nilai basa-basa seperti K-dd sebesar 0,99 cmol/kg. Produksi tanaman terung pada pemberian biokanat 20 ton/ha menunjukkan peningkatan hasil dan produksi sebesar 7,11 ton/ha. Untuk produksi yang tinggi dan efisien, disarankan memberikan perlakuan 20 ton/ha biokanat pada pertanaman terung pada Inceptisol Nagari Mungo Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota.
