Abstract

Jagung merupakan tanaman serealia yang memiliki potensi dalam industri pakan ternak unggas dan ruminansia. Kebutuhan hara tanaman jagung sebagian besar disuplai oleh pupuk anorganik karena memiliki kadar unsur hara yang lebih tinggi, terkomposisi dan cepat tersedia untuk tanaman. Namun, ketergantungan pada pupuk anorganik berkaitan langsung dengan penurunan efisiensi dan degradasi lahan pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara PGPR dan pupuk urea, serta mendapatkan dosis optimum dalam mengurangi input pupuk urea melalui aplikasi PGPR pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Mei hingga September 2021 di Ketaping, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan dosis PGPR yaitu: 0%, 50%, 100%, 150%, dan 200%. Faktor kedua terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan dosis pupuk urea yaitu: 25%, 50%,75%, dan 100%. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji F, jika berbeda nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi interaksi antara PGPR dan pupuk urea terhadap tinggi tanaman jagung. Dosis 100% PGPR efektif terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter tongkol, bobot 1000 biji pipilan kering, bobot tongkol jagung tanpa kelobot perpetak, dan pipilan kering per hektar. Penggunaan dosis 200% PGPR mereduksi penggunaan pupuk urea sebesar 25% dan meningkatkan produktivitas akumulatif jagung sebesar 37,63%. Pupuk urea dengan dosis 75% lebih efektif pada tinggi tanaman dan parameter hasil tanaman jagung, kecuali jumlah baris pertongkol dan panjang tongkol.
