Abstract

ABSTRAK Manajemen Komunikasi Tourist Information Center (TIC) pada Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kota Padang Oleh : Siti Gloria BP. 1320869017 Pembimbing Prof. Dr. Afrizal, MA Dr. Neni Efrita, M.Si Tesis ini berisikan tentang manajemen komunikasi TIC (Tourist Information Center) pada Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kota Padang, dengan tujuan penulisan yaitu mendeskripsikan TIC dan manajemen komunikasi pada Dibudpar Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui teori manajemen komunikasi Suprapto. Suprapto mendefinisikan manajemen komunikasi yaitu penerapan fungsi manajemen planning, organizinng, actuating dan controlling terhadap unsur-unsur komunikasi. Dan fokus penelitian yaitu penerapan fungsi manajemen terhadap 3 unsur komunikasi yaitu komunikator, pesan dan media. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan pengumpulan dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa manajemen komunikasi pada kegiatan TIC Dibudpar Kota Padang belum dikelola efektif sehingga fungsi TIC sebagai pusat informasi dengan tujuan memudahkan wisatawan untuk mendapatkan informasi pariwisata yang dibutuhkan belum dapat tercapai sepenuhnya.
