Abstract

The values of the surface induced charges, the positions of their centers and the value of the equivalent dipole of an oblate conducting spheroid are determined by transition from spheroidal coordinates to a spherical system of coordinates in the analytical asymptotic calcu-lations of the first order of smallness with respect to the squared eccentricity. The characteristics of the equivalent dipole are obtained depending on the value of the electro-static field strength, squared eccentricity, and the radius of an equal sphere.
